Tres Bagos 2015
Color: straw, citrus and bright.Aroma: elegant, fruity and fresh, like pear, white plum and hints of pineapple. Mineral, with a touch of vanilla well intergrated.
Flavor: intense, full with aromatic notes that recall the flavor of fresh fruits, balanced acidity, complex and tasty. Very mineral, presents a long and elegant aftertaste. Viosinho is a white Portuguese wine grape variety that is grown primarily in northern Portugal where it attains high acidity levels. It is primarily found in the Trás-os-Montes and Douro DOCs. It is used primarily as a blending grape where it adds structures and flavor to both still and fortified Port wines. This Douro grape is now planted right across Portugal and has recently become particularly popular in the Alentejo. It produces fresh, lively wines with good acidity, plenty of body, and fresh, citrus aromas, along with notes of peach and aniseed, and lovely balance. It ages well in bottle. For years it was known as Verdelho in the Douro, which led to confusion, as Gouveio has nothing to do with the Verdelho of Madeira. It ripens quite early, giving relatively high yields of medium-sized, tightly packed bunches of small, yellowish-green grapes that are prone to oidium infection and vulnerable if rain should fall around harvest time.
