Chateau Figeac Saint-Emilion Grand Cru 2002 - This Figeac has a gamey nose dominated by Cabernet Franc: typically masculine with touches of sous-bois emerging stronger with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied, spicy upon entry with dark chocolate and a hint of raw coffee beans. Firm, rather obtrusive tannins, perhaps lacking the harmony of a great Figeac and lacking some grip on the stalky finish. Drink now-2015. Tasted November 2006.
